The Filigree Theatre Code of Conduct
This code of conduct is designed to clarify the expectations of The Filigree Theatre (The Filigree Theatre of Texas, LLC) regarding the manner in which Filigree Affiliates: (performers; designers; production staff - including, but not limited to, stage management, director(s), producer(s); front of house; administration; volunteers; Advisory Board) must conduct themselves while working on a Filigree production specifically, or otherwise involved in the activities of the company. All of those affiliated with Filigree are ambassadors in the community and stewards of Filigree’s reputation. The actions of Filigree Affiliates impact not only themselves, but likewise reflect upon the community of artists, administrators and volunteers all working together under the Filigree banner.
This Code of Conduct applies to all Filigree Affiliates while:
- at Filigree’s office
- at Filigree’s designated rehearsal and performance spaces
- at Filigree-related functions - professional and social gatherings and events
- wherever there is a connection to Filigree - such as social media, press and
other public-facing forums
General Guidelines
Filigree aligns with, and adheres to the Artists Rights enumerated in the B. Iden
Payne Council’s Artists’ Bill of Rights.
Filigree is committed to providing a respectful, inclusive and safe environment for everyone who works with and/or is affiliated with the company. Filigree Affiliates are expected to perform their roles with professionalism and with a good-faith commitment to the best interests of Filigree specifically, and to the greater Austin theatre community, generally. Underlying this commitment is the need for Filigree to ensure that all persons contributing to the success of the company act with dignity, honesty, integrity and with respect towards others.
Specifically, Filigree Affiliates must not:
- Abuse or threaten to abuse (verbally, physically or in writing) another person;
- Physically or sexually assault another person;
- Discriminate or unfavorably treat someone because of their race, gender
(including gender identification), age, sexual orientation, disability, religious
beliefs, or other personal characteristics; - Intimidate, threaten or harass another person (in person or in writing);
- Sexually harass another person with unwanted, unwelcome or uninvited
behavior - Bully, isolate or humiliate another person;
- At anytime allow the consumption of alcohol or restricted or dangerous drugs
to adversely affect their work performance or official conduct. - Be disrespectful of any Filigree spaces or property (or spaces or property that
Filigree may use or rent).
Breach of the Code of Conduct
In event of a minor breach of the Code of Conduct, Filigree will attempt to resolve the matter by explanation of the breach and the further monitoring of the situation. A more serious breach of the Code of Conduct may lead to disciplinary action up to, and including dismissal from a production.
This code of conduct is a living document and will be updated periodically
